Help My test email doesn't arrive – the test keeps waiting
First check that you sent to the test address exactly as shown on the page – it is new for every test and only valid for that one test. Some sending services and newsletter tools send with a delay or hold back mail to unknown addresses; check their sending log to see whether the email was rejected. If you keep the page open, the report appears automatically as soon as the email arrives.
If nothing arrives after 15 minutes, start a new test and send the email to the new address.
Help How long are my test reports stored?
Without an account, reports stay available for 7 days, with a free account for 30 days and with Pro for 365 days. The raw version of your email is deleted after 7 days regardless. You'll find your tests under My account.
Help DKIM is missing or invalid – what should I do?
DKIM signs every email so mailbox providers can check that it wasn't changed on the way and really comes from your domain. If the signature is missing, enable DKIM in your mail server or newsletter tool. There you get a selector and a public key, which you add as a TXT or CNAME record at selector._domainkey.yourdomain.com. Use 2048 bits.
If the signature is invalid, the key in DNS usually no longer matches the server, or the email was changed after signing (e.g. by signature software or forwarding). Check the record with the DKIM checker. More: SPF, DKIM and DMARC explained.
Help SPF is missing, invalid or has too many DNS lookups
SPF defines which servers may send email for your domain. Each domain may have exactly one SPF record (TXT, starting with v=spf1). It may trigger at most 10 DNS lookups – every include, a, mx, exists and redirect counts, including inside included records. Remove services you no longer use, list your own servers as ip4/ip6 and end the record with ~all or -all.
The SPF checker shows the record with all included records; build a new one with the SPF generator.
Help DMARC is missing or set to p=none
DMARC tells mailbox providers what to do with emails that claim to come from you but fail SPF and DKIM. Add a TXT record at _dmarc.yourdomain.com, starting with p=none and an address for reports (rua). Check the reports for two to four weeks, then switch to p=quarantine and later to p=reject. Gmail and Yahoo require at least a DMARC record from bulk senders.
Create the right record with the DMARC generator; the reports are analyzed for you under Domains & DMARC.
Domains & DMARC
Help Why am I not getting DMARC reports for my domain?
Mailbox providers only send DMARC reports to the address in the rua field of your DMARC record. Enter the address shown for your domain under Domains & DMARC. The first reports usually arrive after one to two days, and only from providers you sent email to during that time.
Account & sign-in
Help I forgot my password
Use Forgot password to get a link by email that lets you set a new password. The link is valid for 30 minutes and works only once. If no email arrives, please check your spam folder.
Help I no longer have access to my two-factor app
Sign in with one of your recovery codes – you received them when you set up two-factor sign-in. Each code works once. Afterwards you can create new codes or set up the app again under Security.
If you have neither the app nor the codes, contact us via the address in the imprint. We only reset two-factor sign-in after verifying your identity.
Help How do I delete my account?
At the bottom of My account you'll find “Delete account”. Your tests, domains, reports and support requests are deleted immediately. We have to keep invoices for eight years for tax reasons. Please cancel a running Pro subscription first.
Billing & Pro
Help Where can I find my invoices?
You can download all invoices as PDF under Invoices. We also send every invoice to the billing email you entered under Billing details. That's also where you change company, address or VAT ID – it applies from the next invoice.
Help How do I cancel Pro?
You can cancel at any time via Cancel contracts here or in the customer portal under Pro. Pro continues until the end of the paid term, after which your account becomes a free account. A free Pro trial doesn't need to be cancelled – it ends by itself.
Help What happens after the free Pro trial?
The trial ends automatically after 14 days, with no costs and nothing to cancel. You'll get a reminder a few days before. If you book Pro during the trial, the paid term only starts when the trial ends.
API
Help How do I get access to the API?
The API is available on request. Apply under API and briefly describe what you want to use it for. After approval you create keys there. All endpoints are listed in the API documentation.
